PROFIL-REGISTRERING / SELF-REGISTRATIONS is a cross-disciplinary conceptualized work by performance artist Sall Lam Toro and sound artist Morten Poulsen. The work regards an artistic examination and deconstruction of bureaucratic processes of identity formalization and residency legalization in Denmark. Through the mediums of sound and body movement, we explore the action of writing and filling out registration forms to observe legalized compilations of the self and the formalization of identity. Such brings an awareness towards the tensions, constraints and dependencies between our social bodies vs social practice (such as the action of filing documents that represent one’s identity legally) and physical body.
The performance was presented as part of Aalborg Art Hour on March 28th 2019 at Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg in collaboration with drama students from KUL Drama, drama teacher Charlotte Prip Eriksen and Thomas Dausell.
